There is a major discrepancy in the field of education regarding the practices that are supported by research and those that are being implemented in practice; those practices that are supported by research are known as "evidence based practices." Many professionals often implement practices that are familiar or comfortable, rather than those that have demonstrated effectiveness. This document provides information regarding the skills and considerations necessary when implementing evidence based practices.
