School dropout is an issue that impacts more than just the student who makes this decision; it also affects his or her family, the community, and society as a whole. There is an overwhelming amount of research that explains the harsh realities of how school dropout negatively impacts students for the rest of their life. Because dropout is a process of gradual disconnection that can begin as early as the 1st grade, there is no single factor that can be held responsible for a student dropping out.
