Trauma Informed Classrooms
Trauma informed care has been a hot topic in academic research and discussions surrounding best-practices in education. Researchers throughout the years have demonstrated the detrimental impact that unaddressed childhood trauma can have on educational outcomes as well as longitudinal outcomes into adulthood. This article emphasizes the importance of building resilience in students through trauma informed classrooms to help them better fare in the face of trauma and achieve positive outcomes despite the harsh and negative life circumstances they might face.
